The former assistant director at Ridgewood Library replaces Rita Altomara, who served for over 30 years as the FLPL director.

"It is such a thrill to be here," Yurgelonis, 43, told Daily Voice. "I have had a very warm reception and I look forward to getting to know the community."

Yurgelonis grew up in Hasbrouck Heights and graduated Rutgers School of Communication and Information in 1997. She lives in Ridgewood with her husband and teenage daughter.

"I want this library to be a reflection of the community and a place people want to come to," Yurgelonis said. "Fort Lee should know that this is their library and I am here to serve them."
